3. Church Planting Workshop Track

TUESDAY

Session 1:  Nuts and Bolts Proverbs for Planting

Some seminars offer innovations hot out of the oven.  Others deliver fresh research from the smartest people on the planet.  We don’t.  We have collected a panel of stumblers and bumblers with PhD’s in “learning the hard way” at the School of Hard Knocks.  For one hour, we will share a boatload of practical proverbs tested and proven in the fires for decades of church planting and dozens of new churches.  Our goal: 5 years from now, you will still be using at least one proverb from our time together.

Time: March 8 — Tuesday, 2:30-3:30pm

Location: Faith Hall Room 301H

Speaker: Brett Andrews, Phil Ling

WEDNESDAY

Session 2: Where to Start: The Launch Plan

The Launch Plan for a church plant is a clear and concise narrative that answers a number of basic questions, including: Why you are planting? Whom are you trying to reach? Where will the church be located? Who will do it with you? How much it will cost? How will it be funded? What kind of church it will be? How will you gather a launch team? What are the critical indicators of health? This Launch Planning workshop will walk you through the Six Steps of Planning that will result in a compelling Launch Plan for the new church.

Time: March 9 — Wednesday, 8:45-9:45am

Location:  Faith Hall Room 301H

Speaker: Patrick Bradley

Session 3: NETWORKING LUNCH: Funding Your Vision

The biggest transfer of generational wealth in history is underway and bringing with it tectonic shifts in how donors approach generosity. Come hear from Phil Ling, church planter, business entrepreneur and sixth-generation ministry leader. He brings research, experience and insights into how generosity intersects with disciple making.

Time: March 9 — Wednesday, 12:00-2:00pm

Location: Faith Hall Room 301H

Speakers: Phil Ling

Session 4: Developing a Launch Team from Scratch During a Pandemic

Building a launch team always presents a challenge, and doubly so during the pandemic. Where do you meet people during a lockdown? How do you meet people that even now are hesitant to come to any event? Come hear from a planter that launched in Spring 2021. You’ll learn practical and creative things to do to recruit launch team members, and how to forge them into a united team that pursues the new church’s vision together.

Time: March 9 — Wednesday, 2:30-3:30pm

Location: Faith Hall Room 301H

Speaker: Jared Nassiff and Sean Cronin

Get plain language helps and hacks to un-complicate the incorporation and 501c3 paperwork for your church plant. Come learn from an experienced practitioner and take the fear out of filing your church legal paperwork.
