  • Church Planting 101: Fundamentals
You’ve been called to plant a church – now what? This Introduction to New Church Development course guides you towards valuable “next steps” for the incredible journey you’re about to embark on. You’ll receive practical nuts and bolts knowledge and learn “how to” methods for church planting from the ground up. Topics include: calling, visionary leadership, planning, oversight, fundraising, launch team recruitment, ministry team development and operations for the new church (e.g. marketing, outreach, facilities, equipment, legal requirements, worship/teaching).

  • Church Planting 201: Practical Ministry
Pastors are counselors, teachers, and leaders. They’re motivators, encouragers, and preachers. But most importantly, pastors should be shepherds. The planter needs to be ready on day 1 to serve as the pastor and shepherd for the new church family. In this course, the planter will learn “how to” skills for practical ministry areas such as pastoral care, counseling, weddings, funerals, benevolence and family ministry (children and youth).

  • Church Planting 301: Preaching and Teaching
Why do churches make such a big deal out of preaching? Why does the sermon typically take up half of a church service?  Well, the truth is churches make a big deal out of preaching because the Bible makes a big deal of preaching. Sermon preparation and delivery is one of the most important functions of the senior minster. This course will prepare the church planter for preaching and teaching in the new church.

Church Planting Residency

Selecting the right residency is an excellent choice for learning from those who have experience to help you get prepared for this journey. Residency programs are offered by several organizations. Take a look at the article from Christianity Today linked below.

The Arrogance and Impatience of Church Planters: How slowing down helps us start stronger churches.

If you’re just beginning to determine God’s call in your life and if that call is to plant a church, a residency program is a great option. Investing time in the beginning will save you from a world of hurt as you are trying to save a hurting world.

Here’s a link to our residency program. Spaces are always limited. Choose wisely.

Church planting isn’t for everyone. Only about 10% of leaders have what it takes to start healthy reproducing churches. Are you one of those select few? Our assessment process will help you answer that question and give you a roadmap of recommendations to help you develop your God-given strengths.

Are you ready to plant? Let us help you answer that question with confidence. Visit our assessment page for more information on what to expect of assessment and when our next one is.

Church Planting Boot Camp

You may be called and qualified to plant a church, but that doesn’t mean you know how to plant a church. Many aspiring church planters make the mistake of venturing off to plant a church without adequately preparing for the journey and end up suffering the consequences. Don’t make that mistake!

Participate in our church planting boot camp which will familiarize you with the nuts and bolts of church planting and help you develop the strategies necessary to make your vision a reality. Our training is a week long (Monday-Friday) and is hosted at the nZone in Chantilly, VA, a suburb of Washington D.C. To learn more about our boot camp training click here: Boot Camp.

  1. Thanks for the work you are doing to equip God’s servants to plant healthy churches.
I am one of the young church planters who has planted over twenty churches across Uganda and I feel I need to learn more about church planting, am only 28 years, and I know God wants me to do much for his kingdom.
Now am a pastor of a new church in Luwero district in Uganda which is one of the most islamlized areas in the country with mosques at list every 2km radius.
The church was planted on the 9th September 2018 and it is growing rapidly, but I need the training, and I will try to take up the online course if possible with you

  2. I already have a Master of Divinity Degree and am interested in getting a Church-planting Certificate to share with my ecclesiastical superiors in my current Wesleyan Church to serve in the suburban United States. I hope I can take all of these possible necessary courses on-line. How much would this cost?
