By Jeff Reed: Exciting news for Church Online fans out there. I (Jeff) have accepted a role with Stadia Church Planting as Director of Digital Church Plants. For Stadia & The Church Digital, we’re defining a “digital church” as a church that plants/launches/starts virtually with an option to maybe one day launch physically. Yes, we’re wrestling with the ecclesiology of a church that exists in digital-space-only. (Look for multiple ecclesiology conversations coming to The Church Digital Podcast very soon.) Ultimately, with Stadia our goal is to:
more
- design a new “model” of church that aligns to the biblical functions of church, not necessarily .
- partner with organizations and vendors to develop reproducible systems that foster discipleship-driven relationships digitally.
- recruit and train church planters to plant churches digitally.
- observe, adjust, repeat steps 1-3.
It’s going to be a fun process, and one that we’re going to be talking about in the coming months here at THCHURCH.DIGITAL Rest assured, THECHURCH.DIGITAL is not going anywhere, but will be ramping up to provide more resources for you.
I excitedly dropped the news this week on YM Sidekick Podcast with Tom Pounder. Check out his podcast “What does Online Church Planting Look Like” to hear some of the backstory and initial thoughts on what’s coming up with the Digital Church.
Interested in being part of a “Digital Church” movement? How about we grab some time and learn from each other. Let’s talk.
