Yea God! Our 2018 Year-In-Review
As we reflect on 2018, we can’t help but praise God for the many ministry opportunities he’s allowed Passion for Planting to play a role in this past year. This year alone we helped start forty-three new churches (across the USA and internationally), provided training to hundreds of church leaders, and offered free church planting resources to churches around the world.
While 2018 offered us plenty to celebrate, we’re even more excited about the impact that will continue into next year and beyond through the churches and leaders we’ve trained and equipped.
We look forward to see how God continues to move through Unite Community Church to impact Ypsilanti, MI with the gospel. Chris Pasik, a former Passion for Planting resident, led the team that launched Unite in September 2018 focusing on creating a Jesus movement in their community where people far from God see HIM as truly irresistible. Unite had over 300 people attend their first worship gathering and have seen many more connect with their church since.
One reason Unite is growing and connecting more people with Jesus is because they served their city BEFORE they invited their city to a service. Throughout 2018, Chris and his team connected with local schools, non-profits, and community leaders asking them how Unite could serve their city. This led to park cleanups, hosting community BBQs and festivals, and partnering with a local school to serve its students and teachers as this short 5-minute video reveals.
While it’s exciting to see what’s God’s doing in Ypsilanti, MI through Unite, we can’t forget to celebrate what he’s doing Portland OR, Missoula MT, Boone, NC, Nampa, ID, Kansas City KS and Indianapolis IN, just to name a few of the places where we’ve worked to start new churches this year. Now for those of you who love numbers, here’s a peek at some of the data in Passion for Planting’s 2018 Church Multiplication Scorecard to get a picture of other ways we’ve served church planting leaders:
- Church Plant Project Management for 16 church plants
- 11 planters in our Distance Church Planter Residency
- 330 new users of our PlanterPlan church plant project management tool
- 23 attendees in our Church Planter Bootcamp
- 7 couples through our Church Planter Assessment
- 402 FREE Demographic Reports provided to church planters
- 21,329 downloads of our FREE downloadable church planting resources
- Over 3,000 enrollments in our FREE online church planting courses since they were deployed
Now it’s time for us to look ahead to 2019. We’re currently working with 12 new churches slated to launch in 2019. None of this would be possible without the generous support and Kingdom vision of New Life Christian Church – the base of Passion for Planting’s operations. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our multiplication efforts to help more and more people discover God!
